Child and Teen Therapist in North Raleigh NC

Sydney Cormas, CMHC-I

Child, Teen, and Young Adult Therapist

RALEIGH, NC

Hi! I’m Sydney, and I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem, social skills, eating disorders, and life transitions. I also work part-time in a residential care setting specializing in the treatment of eating disorders.

My therapeutic approach is integrative and draws from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. I strive to tailor my approach to each individual’s unique needs while fostering a safe, supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment. I believe that everyone has the capacity for meaningful change with the right support, and my goal is to meet clients where they are and walk alongside them as they build insight, confidence, and skills to support personal growth and progress toward their goals.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my pup, experimenting with new recipes, reading, traveling, caring for my aquariums, and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to the opportunity to work together!

Why Work With an Intern Therapist?

Working with an intern therapist can be a smart, supportive, and cost-effective choice without compromising quality of care.

Fresh, Up-to-Date Training
Intern therapists are actively learning and practicing the latest, evidence-based approaches. They’re current on research and new treatment methods, bringing modern tools and fresh perspectives into your sessions.

Two Therapists Supporting You
When you work with an intern, you’re getting more than one therapist. Your care is closely supervised by the practice owner and lead clinician, our most experienced therapist. That means your treatment benefits from both the intern’s insight and the supervisor’s expertise; two therapists collaborating for the price of one.

More Flexible Rates
Interns are able to offer reduced and flexible fees, making therapy more accessible while still providing high-quality, thoughtful care.
