Couples Therapy, Marriage Counseling, and Infidelity Recovery in Raleigh, NC

Hello, and welcome. I'm Courtney Creed, LCMHCA, and I specialize in couples therapy in Raleigh, NC. I help couples who feel stuck in recurring arguments, disconnected from one another, struggling with trust, or trying to heal after infidelity and betrayal.

If you're looking for a couples therapist in Raleigh, chances are you've already tried to work through things on your own. Maybe communication breaks down quickly, the same conflicts keep resurfacing, or you're wondering whether your relationship can recover from the hurt you've experienced. My goal is to help you move beyond those painful patterns and create a relationship that feels more connected, secure, and fulfilling.

My work with couples is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, two of the most researched and effective approaches to couples counseling and marriage therapy. Together, we'll identify the patterns that keep you stuck, strengthen emotional connection, improve communication, and build the tools needed for lasting change.

I work with couples and individual partners facing:

  • Communication challenges

  • Chronic conflict and recurring arguments

  • Emotional disconnection

  • Infidelity and affair recovery

  • Betrayal trauma

  • Trust and intimacy concerns

  • Premarital counseling

  • Parenting stress and relationship strain

  • Relationship transitions and separation discernment

I believe that most couples aren't struggling because they don't care about each other. More often, they're caught in cycles that leave both partners feeling misunderstood, hurt, or alone. Therapy provides an opportunity to slow down, understand what's happening beneath the surface, and create new ways of connecting.

In addition to couples counseling, I work with individual clients navigating anxiety, infidelity, betrayal trauma, separation, divorce, and religious trauma. Relationship wounds can have a profound impact on your sense of self, your ability to trust, and your emotional well-being. Whether you're healing from a partner's betrayal, processing the end of a relationship, or working through the effects of a harmful religious experience, I provide a supportive space to help you make sense of what you've been through and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

I also work with adults, teens, children, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem concerns, grief, parenting challenges, family conflict, and major life transitions.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and direct. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you better understand yourself, your relationships, and the experiences that have shaped you. Together, we'll build on your strengths while creating meaningful and sustainable change.

I integrate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and strengths-based interventions to meet the unique needs of each client and couple.

When I'm not in the office, you'll likely find me walking with my pup around a local park, reading at a favorite coffee shop, trying a new recipe with my partner, or planning my next mountain adventure.

I know reaching out for support can be one of the hardest steps. Whether you're seeking couples therapy, marriage counseling, support after infidelity, or individual therapy in Raleigh, NC, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.
