Practice Manager & Teen and Young Adult Therapist at Your Journey Through Therapy in Raleigh, NC
Hi there! I'm Alexis, and I work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship issues, avoidance behaviors, and life transitions. As part of my ongoing training, I'm pursuing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) certification, an approach that helps clients work through trauma, ease emotional distress, and move toward long-term healing and resilience.
My therapeutic approach is client-centered and collaborative, and I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring what's holding them back. I believe everyone has the capacity for growth with the right support, and my goal is to meet clients where they are and walk alongside them as they build insight, confidence, and the tools they need to move forward.
Outside of the therapy room, I love traveling with my husband, relaxing with my cats, and enjoying sunny days at the beach.
Why Work With an Intern Therapist?
Working with an intern therapist can be a smart, supportive, and cost-effective choice without compromising quality of care.
Fresh, Up-to-Date Training
Intern therapists are actively learning and practicing the latest, evidence-based approaches. They’re current on research and new treatment methods, bringing modern tools and fresh perspectives into your sessions.
Two Therapists Supporting You
When you work with an intern, you’re getting more than one therapist. Your care is closely supervised by the practice owner and lead clinician, our most experienced therapist. That means your treatment benefits from both the intern’s insight and the supervisor’s expertise; two therapists collaborating for the price of one.
More Flexible Rates
Interns are able to offer reduced and flexible fees, making therapy more accessible while still providing high-quality, thoughtful care.
