The Need for Support

Divorce and separation can be profoundly challenging for anyone involved, but the impact on women often comes with unique emotional and practical hurdles. As we delve deeper into the reasons for the need for support during this trying time, we aim to shed light on the significance of reaching out for assistance and how a support group will help set you up for success.

Emotional Challenges:

One of the most significant challenges women face during divorce or separation is the emotional rollercoaster. Feelings of grief, anger, sadness, guilt, and even relief may all come crashing in waves. Coping with this emotional turmoil can be overwhelming, leaving you feeling lost and in need of guidance and understanding.

Legal Complexities:

Navigating the legal aspects of divorce or separation can be particularly daunting. Understanding the intricacies of the legal system, dividing assets, and dealing with custody arrangements can be a tremendous source of stress and anxiety. Without the right support, it's easy to feel out of your depth.

Co-Parenting Challenges:

For many women, co-parenting with an ex-spouse can be a delicate balancing act. Communication and cooperation may be strained, and ensuring the well-being of your children is paramount. Support and guidance in co-parenting can make a significant difference in this process.

Isolation and Loneliness:

Divorce or separation often leads to a sense of isolation and loneliness. The support structures that once existed may have fractured, leaving you feeling disconnected from friends and family. A support group can provide a sense of belonging and a community that understands your journey.

Self-Care and Empowerment:

Finally, self-care and personal empowerment are vital aspects of emerging from divorce or separation. It's essential to rediscover your sense of self, rebuild your confidence, and chart a path to a brighter future. A support group can be the catalyst for this transformation.

Meet Brittany!

Hello, and Welcome! I’m Brittany Coker, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. I am passionate about supporting women through separation and divorce and care deeply about empowering my clients to live healthier, happier lives.

I have worked with children, teens, adults, individuals, couples, and families throughout my career. I specialize in helping my clients increase their self-esteem, work through identity issues, conquer anxiety, improve communication, set healthy boundaries, and explore their attachment styles.

Goals for the Group:

The end of a significant relationship in your life can be devastating. It can feel confusing, scary, uprooting, and isolating. In this group, you will:

You'll have the opportunity to connect with other women who understand your journey, share their stories, and offer their insights. The relationships formed within the group often lead to lasting friendships and a strong support network.

We understand how isolating this process can be, which is why we’re so excited to have a women-focused support group.
